Riverside South is a beautiful suburb in the south of Ottawa that continues to grow at a rapid rate. Riverside South is a beautiful suburban community located in the south side of the city of Ottawa. What started out as rural farming land began its gradual development into a more populated suburb in the 1990’s and since has blossomed into one of the most sought out neighbourhoods for home buyers in Ottawa. Now with extensive commercial and residential development, Riverside South is growing at nearly the same pace as other popular communities, such as Barrhaven and Kanata, and is expected to expand its borders to reach as far as Manotick to the south, and Findlay Creek to the east.

As a response to the ever increasing population this community has seen, additional developments to support current and future residents are to occur. The demand for more accessible public transportation in Riverside South is being met with the introduction of the Trillium Line O-Train to the community, set to make its grand opening in 2022. The community will also see its first public high school, Riverside South High School, a $42 million dollar project funded by the province of Ontario with space for more than 1,500 students. 

Year to date, there have been 46 homes sold in Riverside South in 2021 year to date, consisting of 38 residential units and 8 condominiums. For a community with a population just under 15,000, these numbers are very impressive! The average sale price for a residential home in the community is $718,929, and average sale prices for condominium units coming in lower at $509,188. Buyers are attracted to this up and coming community for its beautiful scenery, active lifestyle, many local businesses and services, and the friendly and overwhelming feeling of safety and security that come with living in this quiet Ottawa suburb.
